Incorporated in 1901, the borough of Prospect Park, is in Passaic County, New Jersey. The area that was to become Prospect Park was first settled by the Dutch, growing into a town largely because of the establishment of the Prospect Park Quarry, which opened in 1901 and continues in operation today. The borough is west of Fair Lawn, south of Hawthorne, east of Haledon, and north of Paterson.
