Unincorporated communities within the township include Ackerson, Edison, Hopewell, Houses Corner, Monroe, Sparta, Sparta Junction, Sussex Mills, Upper Mohawk, Woodruffs Gap, and Lake Mohawk, which is partially located in Byram Township.
