Spring Lake, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, was incorporated as a borough in 1892. In 1903, the borough of North Spring Lake was annexed to Spring Lake. Wreck Pond is a tidal pond on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by Wall Township and the boroughs of Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights, and Sea Girt. The author, Mary Higgins Clark, was born in Spring Lake, which was the setting for her novel, “On The Street Where You Live.” Jack Nicholson has also been a resident of Spring Lake.
