Upper Township is in Cape May County, New Jersey. Formed as a precinct in 1723, Upper was incorporated as one of New Jersey’s initial townships in 1798. Unincorporated communities within the township include Beesleys Point, Marmora, Palermo, Seaville, Tuckahoe, Greenfield, Marshallville, Steelmantown, Petersburg, and Strathmere, the latter of which was annexed to the township in 1905.
