Wall Township was formed in 1851 from parts of Howell Township. Neighborhoods or unincorporated communities within the township include Allaire, Allenwood, Glendola, Old Mill, and West Belmar. Wreck Pond is a tidal pond on the Atlantic Coast, surrounded by Wall Township, as well as the boroughs of Spring Lake, Lake Heights, and Sea Girt.
