West Windsor Township, New Jersey was formed in 1797, and incorporated as one of the state’s initial group of townships in 1798. The Borough of Princeton dissolved, to become part of West Windsor in 2012, and is currently a census-designated place within the township. Grover’s Mill, in West Windsor, was the site that Orson Welles chose for the Martian invasion scene in his 1938 broadcast of “The War of the Worlds.” The actor, Ethan Hawke, resides in West Windsor.
