Situated on the north bank of the Canadian River, two hundred feet above the river bed, Logan is a village in Quay County, New Mexico. The town was founded at the place where the main line of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad crossed the river. The town’s first home was built by Olie Smith in 1901, who sold the house to Eugene Logan, for whom the village was named. The community is near Ute Lake State Park, about twenty-four miles northeast of Tucumcari.
