Commonly known as T or C, the city of Truth or Consequences is the seat of Sierra County, New Mexico. The community was named Hot Springs until 1950, when its name was changed to the title of a popular NBC radio program. Ralph Edwards, the host of the show, announced that he would air the program from the first town that renamed itself after the show, and he visited the city during the first weekend in May for the next fifty years.
