Organized in 1813, Mendon is a small town in Monroe County, New York. The town got its name from Caleb Taft, an early settler whose hometown was Mendon, Massachusetts. The town is bordered on the north by Pittsford, on the west by Henrietta and Rush, and on the east by Ontario County. The Honeoye Creek flows across the southern town line.
