The small, seaside town of Caswell Beach is on the eastern part of Oak Island, in Brunswick County, North Carolina. The town sites adjacent to the North Carolina Baptist Assembly and the U.S. Coast Guard station on the island. Incorporated as a town in 1975, a prominent feature of Caswell Beach is the Oak Island Lighthouse, which towers over the community, which now owns the historic structure.

Oak Island Lighthouse Run & Walk
The annual event has been held each April since 1999. Beginning in Caswell Beach, the event includes a 10-K, 5-K, and half-marathon, which is designed to showcase the scenery of Oak Island, North Carolina, including salt marshes, the Atlantic Ocean, wide beaches, the ruins of a historic fort, and a lighthouse.
