Originally known as Clemmonsville, the Village of Clemmons was founded in 1802, and incorporated in 1986. The community was named for Peter Clemmons, who moved his wife and fourteen children to the area from Delaware. Although others lived in the area, it was Clemmons who developed Clemmons into a community. Clemmons is located in the Northwestern Piedmont section of North Carolina in Forsyth County. Clemmons is southwest of Winston-Salem and northeast of Bermuda Run.
