Haw River is a town in Alamance County, North Carolina. The community has its beginnings in 1745, when Adam Trollinger established a homestead on the banks of the Haw River. In 1748, his son, Jacob, built a grist mill, and a village known as Trollinger's Ford grew up around the mill, although the town was not incorporated until 1973, named for the river on which it was founded.
