Hookerton is southeast of Snow Hill, in Greene County, North Carolina. The East Carolina Railroad, intended to serve a route from Tarboro to Kinston, terminated in Hookerton instead, providing passenger and freight service during the early 20th century, although it is no longer in operation. Incorporated in 1817, Hookerton is the oldest town in Greene County.
