Hudson is a town in Caldwell County, North Carolina. The community grew up around a sawmill camp in the early 1800s. Initially known as Hudsonville, the name of the village was shortened in 1889. Mr. Monroe Hudson was the first village postmaster, serving from 1880 to 1889. Hudson was incorporated in 1905. Hudson is south of Lenoir and east of Cajah’s Mountain.
