Kill Devil Hills, a town in Dare County, North Carolina, was the location of the Wright Brothers' first controlled, powered airplane flights in 1903. Orville Wright returned in 1911, and set a new world glider record. The town hosts the Wright Brothers National Memorial, commemorating these events.
