Incorporated in 1839, Mocksville is located in the western part of the Piedmont Triad, and is the seat of Davie County, North Carolina. The precise date that the area was settled is unknown, but a small village referred to as "Mocks Old Field" was in existence before the Revolutionary War. A famous early resident was Daniel Boone.
