Located about twenty-five miles south of Charlotte, Mooresville is a town in Iredell County, North Carolina, and home to the corporate headquarters of Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse, as well as to several NASCAR racing teams and NASCAR Technical Institute. Founded in 1856, Mooresville was named for John Franklin Moore, who owned a plantation on the site of the town.
