Ashley, North Dakota is the seat of McIntosh County. Established in 1888, the community was named for Ashley Morrow, a Milwaukee Railroad executive. Many of its early settlers were German and Russian immigrants. The small city is located southeast of Bismarck and east of Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
