The city of Miamisburg, Ohio is in Montgomery County, bordering Miami Township, Springboro, and West Carrollton. The community was known as Hole’s Station when Zechariah Hole settled there with his family around 1797, building an stockade on the west bank of the Miami River, opposite the mouth of Bear Creek. The settlement became an incorporated village in 1822, and a city in the 1920s. The city’s current name was derived from the Miami Indian tribe that inhabited the area.
