Ontario is a city in Richland County, Ohio. The town began as a settlement in Springfield Township, near Mansfield. Ontario combined with another small settlement known as New Castle in 1834, and took on additional land to the east and west, although Ontario not incorporate as a village until 1958, becoming an city in 2001.
