The incorporated village of South Bloomfield, Ohio is in Pickaway County. Founded in 1804, South Bloomfield was a prominent stagecoach stop on the Columbus-Chillicothe line, now US Route 23. Although the official date of its founding is 1804, there were settlers in the area as early as 1898, and the earliest gravestone in its cemetery is dated 1801. South Bloomfield is north of Circleville and south of Columbus.
