Springdale, Ohio is in Hamilton County. The village that was to become Springdale was platted by John Baldwin in 1806, although he named the new community Springfield, leading to frequent mistakes in postal delivery, given that there was already a city in Ohio by that name. A name change was forced on the village by the post office in the early 1850s.
