Antlers is the seat of Pushmataha County, Oregon. At the time the area was settled as a railway station, it was sparsely populated, and known as Jack's Fork County of the Choctaw Nation, in the Indian Territory. Antlers was named for the presence of large deer antlers which were nailed to trees, apparently to mark the site of a freshwater spring. Its first post office was established in 1887.
