Big Cabin is a small town in Craig County, Oklahoma. Established as a railroad switch along the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railway, Big Cabin was named for a large plank cabin used by American indians about one and a half miles northwest of the tracks. The town was platted by the Cherokee Nation in 1904. The process of incorporation began in 1926 but was not completed until 1958.
