Located on the Kingfisher-Logan county line, portions of Cashion fall within the boundaries of each county. The town was settled at the turn of the 20th century at a location where two railroads met, and was named for Roy Vincent Cashion, a local boy who was killed at the Battle of San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War. Cashion was incorporated in 1901.
