Colcord is located n southern Delaware County, Oklahoma. Its history began in the 1890s, when the community of Row was developed in the Indian Territory. A post office was developed there in 1905. In the 1920s, a road was built one mile south of Row and another community, known as Little Tulsa, grew there. Most of the Row community soon moved to Little Tulsa, and its name was changed to Colcord in 1928.
