Del City is located in Boone Township, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. Serving as a bedroom community for Oklahoma City, Del City was founded in 1946, and incorporated in 1948, named for the developer's daughter, Delaphene. Since the city's incorporation, it has expanded three times, annexing Carter Park, Midway Village, and an undeveloped parcel between the city and Tinker Air Force Base.
