Formerly known as Sweeney, the town of Harrah is located at a natural ford in the North Canadian River in the southeast corner of Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. The town was named for Frank Harrah, who developed the town in the 1890s, although Harrah was not incorporated until 1908.
