Henryetta is in southern Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. While its founder and first resident was Hugh Henry, the town is said to have been named for Henry G. Beard, who was a prominent resident of the community when its post office was established in 1900. Prominent residents of Henryetta include the NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman and actress Alice Ghostley.
