Hydro, Oklahoma is mostly in Caddo County, while a small portion of northern Hydro is in Blaine County. The town was founded in 1901 when the Wichita and Caddo Reservation was opened for settlement. The town was initially called Caddo but was changed to Hydro when its post office was established, named for the area's plentiful well water.
