Keota is a small town in northeastern Haskell County, Oklahoma. The town was founded in 1904, during the last days of the Choctaw Nation, by the Midland Valley Railroad's land company, and its post office was established the following year. Keota is home to the Port of Keota, a stop on along the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.
