Kingfisher, Oklahoma is the seat of Kingfisher County. The community has its origins 1889, when the federal government opened federal lands to settlement. The city is situated on the Chisholm Trail, and is the birthplace of Sam Walton, the founder of WalMart and Sam's Club.
