Meno, Oklahoma is in northeastern Major County, west of Enid. The community was settled after the Cherokee Outlet Opening of 1893, mostly by Mennonites, and the town derives its name from Menno Simons, the founder of the Mennonite religion. The second "n" was dropped inadvertently when town application papers were filed. Its post office was established in 1899.
