Newcastle, Oklahoma is located in the northernmost corner of McClain County, with a portion of the city in Grady County. At the time when it was formed in the late 1800s, it was part of the Chickasaw Indian Territory. Its first post office was established in 1894. Although its post office moved in 1905 and agin in 1920, each of these locations are within the current city limits.
