Paden is a small town in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, named for Paden Tolbert, a U.S. Deputy Marshall who served the area in the early 1900s. Paden began as a stop along the railroad, and was named in John Steinbeck's book, "The Grapes of Wrath", as a pit stop for the Jode family.
