The City of Prague had its beginnings in the Land Run of 1891, which opened the Sac and Fox Reservation to settlement by non-Indians. Its early settlers included Eva Barta and her son, Frank Barta, who had come from Austria. Eva Barta named the developing town after Praha, Czechoslovakia in 1902, which was anglicized to Prague that same year. Prague is in Lincoln County, Oklahoma.
