Named for Joseph Roff, a rancher who moved to the area from Texas in 1871, Roff is a small town in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. Its post office was established in 1890 and, in 1900, the town center was relocated south of the original townsite in order to be nearer to the railroad. Joseph Roff served as the town's postmaster and first mayor.
