Texhoma is an Oklahoma Panhandle town in southern Texas County. Texhoma is a divided city, with the Texas-Oklahoma border separating the town from Texhoma, Texas. Before it was placed in Oklahoma Territory in 1890, the settlement was in what was known as No Man's Land, an area without jurisdiction. The town came into existence when the nearby post office of Loretta moved and changed its name to Texhoma, after being bypassed by the railroad in 1901.
