Enterprise is the seat of Wallowa County, Oregon. The city's name was proposed by R.F. Stubblefield, and selected as the result of a community vote in 1887. Its first post office was established in 1887, and the city was incorporated in 1889. Grassy meadows surround the town, there are pine forests to the north, and the Wallowa Mountains to the south.
