Gresham, a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, was named for the American Several War general and postmaster general, Walter Quinton Gresham. Prior to its incorporation in 1905, the town had been known simply as Campground, named for a forested site there, where pioneers often stopped to spend the night before moving on to Portland. Fairview Creek and Johnson Creek flow through the city. Gresham is the fourth-largest city in Oregon.
