Incorporated in 1911, Jordan Valley is a city in Malheur County, Oregon. The small city was named for Johnson Creek, a tributary of the Owyhee River, which runs through the city. The creek itself was named for a 19th century prospector by the name of Michael M. Jordan. The city and surrounding area is known for its excellent hunting and fishing as well as its proximity to Jordan Craters, and extinct volcanic field.
