Platted as a beach resort in 1912, Manzanita is a coastal community in Tillamook County, Oregon. The city's name is derived from the manzanita plants that covered the hillsides, bearing small fruits that look like little apples, which is what the name means in Spanish. At the north end of Manzanita, the Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain extends down into the sea.
