Mosier is one of the communities that make up the Columbia River Gorge. Located in Wasco County, the city was first settled in 1854, and incorporated as a city in 1914. Its history begins with the arrival of Jonah H. Mosier, who came to the area from Pennsylvania, after spending some time in California. One of his children, Jefferson Mosier, upon the death of his father, bought out the interests of the other hears and platted the town of Mosier, Oregon.
