Lewisburg, Pennsylvania is a borough and the seat of Union County. Founded in 1784 by a man named Ludwig Derr and settled the next year. Derr, who was an effective liaison between the settlers and the local Indians, kept them safe by his intervention. The settlement was called Derrstown until he died, at which time it was changed to Lewisburg.
