The community of Trevose, Pennsylvania, located in Bucks County, is coupled with Bensalem and part of Lower Southampton Township. It was first known as "Ridges," in honor of William Ridge who owned most of the land on which the village mow sits. The name was changed to "Brownsville" in 1817, and it was not until 1873, when the Reading Railroad built a station through the village that the name was finally changed to Trevose.
