South Kingstown is a town in Washington County, Rhode Island. The town includes the villages of East Matunuck, Green Hill, Indian Lake, Kingston, Matunuck, Ocean Ridge, Peace Dale, Perryville, Snug Harbor, Torrey Hill, Tuckertown, Wakefield and West Kingston, although Peace Dale and Wakefield are often known as Wakefield-Peacedale. South Kingstown was formed in 1722 when the former Kings Towne was split into two parts.
