Established in 1639, West Greenwich is a town in Kent County, Rhode Island. Named for Greenwich, Kent, in England, West Greenwich was separated from East Greenwich in 1741. West Greenwich is one of the least densely populated towns in the state, with one of the highest percentages of open space.
