Separated from the mainland by the tidal Stono River, Johns Island is one of several sea islands along the coast of South Carolina. Approximately, one-third of the island has been annexed by the City of Charleston. A unique feature of the island is the Angel Oak, a live oak tree said to be between five hundred and fifteen hundred years old. This category lists sites related to the island, regardless of whether the location is within or without the Charleston city limits.
