Located only a few miles from the Greenville County line, Landrum is the most northwestern town in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The town was known as Earlesville in the mid-1700s, named for a family that owned much of the land in the area at the time. When the railroad came in the late 1800s, the Reverend John Landrum donated four acres of land for the railroad depot. The train station was named Landrum, and soon the town adopted the name as well.
