Pageland is located in northwestern Chesterfield County, South Carolina, just a few miles from the North Carolina line. A few families were living in the area in 1788, but the settlement grew into a town when a railroad depot was built in 1900. The town was named for Adolphus High Page, the railroad executive who chose the location of the depot.
